McKinley Medical and Owens-Illinois Complete Manufacturing Process Validation on Two of the Leading Disposable Pumps

Wheat Ridge, Colorado – May 27, 2003 – McKinley Medical, LLLP, an affiliate of The Broe Companies, is an international supplier of infusion systems and the designer of one of the world’s leading pain-management pumps.  It announced today that it completed the manufacturing validation with Owens-Illinois, Inc.  McKinley Medical contracted with Owens-Illinois to manufacture two of its disposable product lines, beeLINE and WalkMed, in Juarez, Mexico.
 
McKinley Medical selected Owens-Illinois over 35 other companies because of its ability to provide a complete turn-key manufacturing solution for the company’s beeLINE and WalkMed disposable products.  Owens-Illinois will handle the procurement, inspection, assembly, release, and warehousing of these McKinley products.

Owens-Illinois is able to support all facets of the manufacturing process, including extrusion, molding, value engineering, product development, and hand assembly to full automation.  They provide clean room molding of medical products in their El Paso, Texas plant.  Moving production to Owens-Illinois facilities will allow McKinley to produce its products more cost-effectively and be more competitive in the growing world healthcare market.
